Had a weird dream last night…

I haven’t posted for a while, but I had this weird dream last night that involved:

  • being attacked by a black bear and my gut was ripped open by it in a gravel pit
  • me killing the bear with my bare hands
  • both the bear and yours truly turning into zombies
  • but I was a good zombie and my wife stayed with me in this shelter until she bolted when the bad zombies started streaming in because she had promised to meet a friend for drinks
  • and the bear zombie defended me
  • but I was eaten anyways…

The was probably the weirdest thing I have experienced in a long time.

But then I saw the proposed changes to the Château Laurier, and my weird dream didn’t seem so “out there” anymore.

Friday miscellany…

… zombies, meteorites and wtf-is-up with athletes edition…

First, zombies:

That was pretty hilarious.

Of course it is obvious that the CPC is courting the zombie vote. Obviously.

Goodness gracious, great balls of fire!

A super cool meteor breaks up over Russia and hundreds are injured; mostly by broken glass.

I wonder how close Putin was to pushing the button…

Top caliber athletes.  You have to admire their dedication to their sport. But what is up with athletes always landing in hot water one way or another to varying degrees of seriously?

There’s Lance Armstrong, a guy that I used to admire a lot but now only a tad – and that only because of his work raising funds for cancer research.

And now there’s Oscar Pistorius being charged in the shooting death of his girlfriend! Wow! I know that he has been charged and not convicted, but it sure doesn’t look good for him.

So tragic to see these two men fall from their perches so hard…

I wonder how the Sens will get around to blaming their star D-man’s severed (ouch!) Achilles tendon on the Leafs! It will happen, have no doubt…

LPC leadership race – I’m starting to lean toward Martha Hall-Findlay… gong to delve a bit deeper into what she has to say. The party needs to think about long term stability and not short-term glitz… and she may be the answer.

My “meh -of-the-week”: the pointy hatted guy in Vatican City is retiring.

This, however, is interesting.

Italian authorities have seized €23 million ($31 million Cdn) of Vatican bank assets as part of an investigation into suspected money laundering.

The Vatican said it was confused as to why financial police targeted the funds in a Vatican account at the Rome branch of the Italian bank Credito Artigiano Spa.

“The Holy See is perplexed and surprised by the initiatives of the Rome prosecutors, considering the data necessary is already available at the Bank of Italy,” the Vatican said in a statement Tuesday.

Bank chairman Ettore Gotti Tedeschi and director-general Paolo Cipriani are also being investigated to determine whether European Union money-laundering rules have been violated, news reports said.

Nice change of pace to see officials with the Catholic Church being accused of a crime that doesn’t involve young boys.

From the Stephen Harper Colouring Book…

Why I can stuff…

… cuz of the zombies…

May is zombie awareness month – UPDATE!

Check out the video in the comments section. The link was passed along to me by the folks at Grit PR.

…and in the wake of the election, I completely forgot about it!

But these guys didn’t!

Supporters of Zombie Awareness Month wear a gray ribbon to signify the undead shadows that lurk behind our modern light of day.  From May 1 through May 31, concerned citizens take this small step to acknowledge the coming danger.

Friday miscellany: with ZOMBIES AND KITTENS!

I’m sure to be posting more than a few things from now through E-Day, so, today, I am focussing on:

Whew. Thanks. I needed a bit of slap upside the head just there!

1) A windy day in O Dot yesterday. I swear I saw Dorothy AND Winnie the Pooh AND my recycling bins flying east over St. Laurent! Were these the political winds of change that I’ve been hearing so much about?

Speaking of my recycling bins, has anyone seen them? One is black and one is blue.  They could be anywhere east of Canterbury HS. Please contact me if you spot them.

2) Warren Kinsella posted this link to the world’s first zombie-proof house! And it’s about time!

Guess we know where the Harperites will scatter to if the polls hold to the 2nd and the socialist hordes take power!

3) Barack Obama caved to the lunatic fringe (aka, the GOP) and produced his “long form” birth certificate to prove that he is indeed, an American.

Two questions:

  • Does Canada have a “long form” birth certificate? And if we do, has Harper done away with it and replaced it with a voluntary birth certificate?
  • Will Harper follow suit and produce his birth certificate? That would put away all of those nasty rumours about being a robot and all. Just sayin’..

4)  Here’s what Iggy said to the CPC the other day:

5) Finally, on a completely non-political note, I wanted to wish the best of luck to the son of a friend and colleague of mine on an adventure he has been on since last year.

Shayne Orok has made into the final 5 of what can be best described as Korea’s version of American Idol. This achieved in spite of the fact that he doesn’t speak Korean AND that he has been away from his (very close) family for months now AND that there were about a gazillion entrants to start with!

This kid has a talent, man! I hope he remembers the nice bald man who said hi to him at the office Xmas party 6 years ago!

Given him a listen.
