If this happens again….

… I’ll do my best to forward the awesomeness from Tunney’s to Sparks… Seriously.

I will.

This be Trashy-cool.

Some Americans…

…just don’t get it.

Madame Marois and the PQ…

… are quickly losing credibility.

Contradictions and confusion in the Parti Québécois’ referendum strategy have come back to haunt Pauline Marois’s campaign, fueling attacks against the sovereigntist leader’s evolving plan to transform her province into an independent country.

Personally, I don’t think Marois could transform a kettle of water into tea, let alone a province into a country. But that’ll be for the voters to decide.

Ms. Marois argued that while her party would allow citizens to initiate a referendum on sovereignty, the government and the Quebec National Assembly would have a veto over whether or not to proceed with the vote.

Her position contradicts comments she made last February when the PQ Leader accepted that the government would be required to hold a citizen-initiated referendum on sovereignty if 15-per cent of eligible voters – about 850,000 people – signed a petition in favour of a vote.

Flippedly-flop! Just like a pancake on a Sunday morning.

And how about having to take a language test before being allowed to run for public office? That’s rich! And it is discriminatory too… would for sure lose a Charter challenge.

Oh wait! She has flapjacked on that too?

The apparent flip-flop was not unlike the one taken earlier this week over another controversial PQ position involving a Quebec Citizenship Bill. On Tuesday, Ms. Marois said that the bill would require a citizen wanting to run for public office in Quebec to have adequate knowledge of French. The proposal would violate both the Canadian and the Quebec Charter of Rights and Freedoms, experts said.

The PQ moved quickly to clarify its position, saying the requirement would only apply to new immigrants. But the damage was already done, forcing Ms. Marois to fend off accusations of intolerance towards cultural minorities.

What a piece of work! Their bumbling is starting to look similar to that of the gong show to the south called the Republican Party!

I wonder what Premier Charest is going to do during his next term in office.

Gone AWOL..

…stolen, actually.

One glass top patio table. Eight years old. Grey metal frame with some rust accents. Missing since Sunday night. Answers to “Patty”.

We had used it for the street party on Sunday. There was a  big downpour afterward and we just moved it back about 8 feet from the curb onto our front “lawn”1 with the intent of taking it to the backyard in the morning.

But apparently, 8 feet was too close to the curb and someone just helped themselves.

I usually don’t mind those scavengers who drive around – or bike around – and collect unwanted materials at the curbside or the contents of our blue boxes on glass and plastic pick-up days. But this time, they went too far. This was theft.

And we are left without a patio table. That sucks.

1. I use the term “lawn” loosely. It is more a strip of grass, weeds, clover and assorted flora.
