Again, I know I said I’d keep politics…

… off this site until I return, but it is our last day down here, so I’m taking some liberties.

This is the Con Natural Resources Minister:

Oliver says the groups “threaten to hijack our regulatory system to achieve their radical ideological agenda,” stack the hearings with people to delay or kill “good projects,” attract “jet-setting” celebrities and use funding from “foreign special interest groups.”

In an interview on CBC News Network, Oliver said radicals are “a group of people who don’t take into account the facts but are driven by an ideological imperative.”

Whole cow! talk about the pot calling the kettle black! there has never, ever been a Canadian government whose policies have been driven to such a degree by “an ideological imperative”!

And here’s a funny twist: On the same day that this story his the news, Syria’s Assad blames foreign plotters for unrest. Damned foreigners! Spending money in Canada to protect the environment and funding radicals in Syria! They’re a busy bunch, these radicals!

Is there foreign money that is funding activities like the anti oil sands lobby? Of course there is! Just like there was money and expertise flowing northward from the NRA to help kill the Gun Registry and the $$’s that come north from Christian evangelicals to push the anti-choice agenda!

Gimme a break, Mr. Oliver.

I loved it when he referred to billionaire socialist radicals. I run into so many of them in my regular travels.

They are everywhere I look! The grocery store, the gas station, the rink… and always pushing their billionaire socialist agendas!
Gotta love how the Minister latches onto what is in reality, a very small proportion of the so-called “radicals” in order to try and polarise opinion… extremely misleading… but it’ll sell at the Tim Hortons tables!
