… jurisdiction to forbid Christmas music before December 1?
How about exterior lights?
Hey Ottawa? How about it?
Yeah, yeah, I’m an old atheist Grinch… I know, I know… but seriously, I don’t recall seeing it anywhere in the Bible that music and decorations had to be out in November! C’mon people! Get real!

The nice thing about knowing the screwed up origins of Christmas and seeing how commercial it is is that it leaves me guilt-free to jingle through the whole season. And I get to pick and chose the bits I want to celebrate – turkey, family, eggnog, parties, twinkle lights and lots of crafty decorating. Oh and the excitement of a 4 year old *g*
I will admit though that when I saw them unloading Christmas trees at Lowes today I might have cried a little.
I wish it was, but freedom of speech/expression guarantees would overrule such a decree.
I think it’s in terrible, terrible bad taste to get all Christmassy before 1 December, at which point it just gets crass and consumery.
I’m sure it’s in the same part of the Bible that says the Christmas catalogue comes out in July.
