Ah… some comic relief that isn’t named Doris…

Check out this guy, Basil Marceaux, who is the GOP candidate running for the Governors post in Tennessee.

What I don’t get is:

  • How did this guy get through the nomination process? Is the gubernatorial race for the GOP that much of a lost cause?
  • Why, oh why didn’t someone tell him that doing his video campaign ad while drunk was a bad idea.

Maybe my cousin Chris who lives in Tennessee (state slogan – America at Its Best) can shed some light… Chris?

  1. Chris says:

I not at all amazed that you picked up on this.
All I can say is he definitely gained lots of popularity in a short time.
    Alas he did not win.
Once again the state of Tennessee shines in the national and apparently international limelight as a bunch of drunk dumbass yahoos

    • trashee says:

BUT – a buncha drunk, dumbass yahoos who DIDN’T elect the guy…. that’s a positive!
Rest assured, Chris, we have our share of yahoos. Our President of the Treasury Board (a Senior Cabinet position) believes that humans walked the earth with dinosaurs and that we should build imaginary prisons for those who commit imaginary crimes!
The vid has gone a bit viral on YouTube and in the political blogoshpere…
