It will pass quickly if there is unanimous consent of the House - which ain't gonna happen. Otherwise it has to go through 3 readings and committee. But these can go fairly quickly provided the opposition cooperates.

Y'know, I didn't want to come across as a a whiner because my family is in a fortunate position compared to many, many others. But it IS freakin' stressful - my BP has been high and my pulse has been racing now and then... plus I'm not sleeping well worrying about many things - but among them is this strike.

I love my life - I truly do. But it can be trying now and then and the last thing anyone's life needs is to be negatively impacted by the actions and inactions of a bunch of grown men and women who are more concerned with posturing than with finding common ground.

It sickens me.

Thank you so much for saying this. Of course, there are people in worse situations than others, but I've actually taken the last couple of days off work because I just can't cope with this carpooling crap anymore - never knowing when I'm goign to get to work or when I do get there, who's going to be around to take me home. Yes, everyone has been great shuffling me around for rides, but it's really getting to me. Nobody seems to understand how demoralizing it is, so I look like a big baby just because I don't get to have any control over my life for a couple of months.
And after the ups and downs so far, I'm not holding my breath that this back-to-work thing is going to fly -- not if she needs the opposition's support. And I'm assuming the opposition will include the NDP and Bloc?? I can't see them agreeing to this.
